Chat for jokes.
Rookely for things worth remembering.
Important stuff drowns in the group chat. Nobody answers the poll. One person ends up carrying the whole thing. Rookely is an app that pulls the planning out of the chat — logistics, expenses, schedule, votes and photos all in one place. The chat stays for jokes.
How it works
From name to organised in minutes
Name it, pick your tools, add your people. That's really it.
Name your trip
Type a name — your event is live. No forms, no extra steps.
Pick what you need
Enable the features that make sense for this trip — or skip it and come back later. The invite link is there from the start.
Invite your crew
Share the invite link. People with an account join instantly. No account? Takes a minute to make one. And if someone really won't sign up, you can add them manually.
What you get
Everything your group chat can't do
Every feature in Rookely exists because someone once said "wait, I thought you were handling that."
Who's bringing what
Add what needs to come — tent, food, first aid — and assign who handles it. Everyone sees what's covered. No more last-minute 'did you pack the...?'
Learn more →Day-by-day plan
Add activities, waypoints, times. Everyone knows what's next — no more 'what time do we leave?' mid-trip.
Learn more →Expenses without the headache
Track who paid what and who's splitting it. Multi-country? Mixed currencies? After the trip the app calculates the minimum transfers to get everyone to zero.
Learn more →Votes instead of going in circles
Ask the group, set options, wait for answers. Remind the ones who forgot. Decision made — without the endless chat loop.
Learn more →What to bring — one place
The organiser suggests what to pack — everyone has it on their list straight away. No more hunting through the chat to remember what was supposed to come.
Learn more →One place for photos
Upload to a shared album instead of flooding the chat. Or link a Google Drive folder — the link lives here so it doesn't get lost.
Learn more →Important info, always findable
Door codes, accommodation addresses, the contact number you'll need at 11pm — pin them to the board. No more scrolling through hundreds of messages to find that one thing.

Your crew. Your trip.
Weekend getaways
Mountains, beach, city break. Plan the whole thing without a spreadsheet or a lost accommodation address buried in the chat.
Motorcycle trips
Routes, gear lists, accommodation and shared costs. Everything a moto crew needs, in one place.
Parties & celebrations
Bachelor parties, birthdays, reunions. Pool the money, lock in the booking, collect the photos.
Camping & hiking
Who's bringing the tent, who's on food, how long the route is. No surprises on the trail.
Team getaways
The team gets a budget and goes somewhere together. Someone has to sort the accommodation, transport and money — without the endless email thread and a spreadsheet.
Sports events
Club trip, tournament, away match or training camp. Who's going, who brings gear, where you're sleeping — sorted in one place.
Road trips
Multiple countries, multiple currencies, multiple nights. Rookely handles the logistics and expenses so you can focus on the road.
Any group trip
Features are optional — enable only what you need. If even one of them saves you one awkward conversation, Rookely is worth it.
How it started
Born from a motorbike trip and a shared spreadsheet
Every year, a group of us heads out on a motorcycle trip together. Over the years, we tried everything in turn: the group chat, social media events, a shared spreadsheet. On social media, half the crew had notifications turned off. The spreadsheet was better — we had a day-by-day route, a group packing list, a participant essentials sheet, and shared expenses. But the link always got buried, and "hey, where's the Excel?" became a ritual before every trip. Whoever found it couldn't tick anything off. No reminders. You still ended up back in the chat. Rookely was built to break that loop.
"Chat for jokes. Rookely for everything else."— The Rookely philosophy
Rookely doesn't want to replace your group chat — and it won't. The chat stays for jokes, spontaneous ideas and the emotions along the way. That's its place. Rookely handles what gets buried in all that: who's bringing the tent, who paid for dinner, where the door code is. Notifications? Only when something genuinely needs your response — a poll, an assigned task. Nothing more. One complements the other.
Questions
Frequently asked
Will my group actually use this — or will it be another app nobody opens?
That's every organiser's fear, and Rookely was built with it in mind. Joining takes under a minute. No tutorial, no setup to click through. You only turn on the features your group actually needs — if you just want expenses, that's all they see. Less friction means more people showing up.
Does everyone need to make an account?
No. People who want to tick their packing list, vote or log expenses need an account — but it takes a minute to create. If someone really won't sign up, you can add them manually: include them in lists, track their costs, manage their logistics for them. They're in the trip, without needing to do anything.
How long does it take to set up?
Type a name, hit enter, you're in. The first screen gives you optional setup — pick a date, choose which features you want. You can skip it entirely and come back later. Most events are ready to share in under two minutes.
I only need one thing — expense splitting, or just a packing list. Do I have to use everything?
No. Features are optional. When you create your event, you choose which modules to turn on. If you only need settlement, that is all you and your group will see. You can add more later if the need comes up.
How much does it cost?
Nothing — for now, Rookely is completely free. No credit card, no trial period. If paid plans are introduced in the future, the core experience will remain accessible.
I've been using a shared spreadsheet for years and it works. Why switch?
A spreadsheet is great for storing information. What it can't do: send a reminder to the person who didn't confirm, let each person tick off what they've packed, or automatically calculate who owes whom after the trip. Rookely doesn't replace the logic of your spreadsheet — it makes it interactive.
Who can see my event?
Only people you explicitly invite. Events are private by default — there's no public link, no searchable directory. Your group's plans stay between your group.
Does it make sense for a small group — like 4 or 5 people?
Absolutely. Rookely works just as well for a weekend trip with four friends as for a 30-person company retreat. Small groups often get the most out of the expense splitting and packing lists, since there is no one else to hand the admin work to.
What happens to the event data after the trip is over?
Your events stay in Rookely. You can browse past events, check old settlements or revisit the photos. Nothing disappears automatically — the data is yours.
Is there a mobile app?
Rookely is a Progressive Web App (PWA) — add it to your home screen directly from your browser, no app store needed. On Android it works like a native app, including push notifications. On iOS you can install it the same way; push notifications are supported on iOS 16.4 and later when installed from Safari.
Can I use Rookely just for myself, without a group?
Yes. Rookely works just as well as a personal trip planner. Use the itinerary to map out your schedule, the packing list so you don't forget anything, and the board to keep all your trip details in one place. You get all the structure without needing anyone else involved.
Does Rookely replace the group chat?
Absolutely not — and that's kind of the point. The group chat is great at what it's great at: spontaneous plans, funny moments, photos you want to share right now. That stays — it should. Rookely handles a different category: the stuff that gets lost in all that. Who's bringing the tent. Who paid for dinner. The door code for the apartment. One complements the other.
